Why We Are Showing the Rebuild Publicly

Trust matters in online prize competitions. That is why this MGTF project is being shown openly from the start.

Rather than simply listing a finished car and asking people to enter, we want visitors to see the work, the process and the real car behind the competition.

This gives people a clearer view of what they are following, what they may be entering for, and how the car progresses from workshop project to finished prize.

The Story Behind the MGTF

This 2004 Rover MGTF started life as a tired project car with plenty of issues needing attention. Instead of breaking it for parts or sending it to scrap, we decided to rebuild it properly and document every stage publicly.

At Win A Classic, we believe classic car competitions should be transparent, genuine and built around real enthusiasm for cars. That is why we are showing the full journey from workshop project to finished prize car.

Throughout the rebuild you will see:

  • Workshop inspections
  • Mechanical repairs
  • Parts sourcing
  • Problems we uncover
  • Progress updates
  • Road testing
  • Final detailing

Every stage of the project will be shared here, across our YouTube channel and on social media before entries officially open.

MGTF Rebuild Timeline

Stage 1: Initial Inspection

The first stage is to inspect the car properly and identify the main mechanical, cosmetic and safety jobs needed before it can become a finished prize car.

Stage 2: Mechanical Checks

We will work through the key MGTF areas including cooling system checks, suspension, brakes, running condition and general reliability.

Stage 3: Interior and Bodywork

The interior, hood, trim, paintwork and overall presentation will be improved so the car feels like a proper weekend classic rather than just a project.

Stage 4: Final Preparation

Before entries open, the MGTF will go through final checks, detailing, photos and video updates so visitors can see exactly what is being offered.

Stage 5: Competition Launch

Once the car is ready, entries will open and registered users will be notified first.
